Our Point of View

We recognise that today’s drastic changes in technology-driven markets and their wider environment require regular refinement of strategy, intelligent optimisation and adaptation of growth concepts.

If, for example, you wish to unlock the potential of your strategy, your partnerships or your pre- and post-sales support for customer interactions, we can assist with assessment, development and, if desired, ‘hands-on’ implementation to structure roles and messaging in such a way that they are more effective in developing your sales funnel and at each stage of the customer journey. For managers and staff (e.g. your pre- and post-sales engineers).

This is particularly true for solutions that require explanation or are technologically complex, where the added value needs to be clearly communicated. Whether the aim is to boost turnover through cross-selling and upselling, or to develop new opportunities – even beyond the direct sales team and the sales department.

Our experience shows that a technological edge alone is not enough

A strategic edge is determined by a combination of in-depth market knowledge, a sound understanding of existing and potential commercialisation pathways, the integration of strategic capabilities, and the creation of new approaches whilst retaining customers as comprehensively as possible within a customised yet adaptive supply chain – coupled with excellent operational execution. This is achievable even without a “the winner takes it all” attitude.

Optimisation along the value chain and customer journey

Speed, agility and iteration: Companies and organisations that adopt a rapid, implementation-focused approach – developing clear target frameworks, making iterative adjustments to business design, and launching initiatives that address the key levers of change necessary for their business – gain a competitive edge when they ensure sustainable implementation, including necessary changes over time. This also encompasses design elements of organisational development, the precise profiling of roles in key functions, and the development of a coherent, ‘purpose-driven’ framework in collaboration with partners. Developing partnerships and being embedded within one or more communities is becoming increasingly important.

Leverage experience … by Crossing Borders

Identifying impacts

Crossing borders means overcoming barriers and thinking outside the box, focusing on potential and identifying future internal and external drivers – as well as their implications – at an early stage, whether in strategy, the route-to-market/go-to-market approach, digital initiatives, account or customer relationship management, or in relation to necessary partnerships. This requires ‘energy’ to be channelled across multiple levels.

Added value through an external perspective

Crossing borders means, in addition to industry knowledge, utilising an external perspective and building bridges. This opens up opportunities. A better, unbiased perspective enables the development of bespoke business and go-to-market strategies that are precisely tailored to requirements that may initially seem unfamiliar. In doing so, companies benefit directly from their improved ability to translate insights into clear operational recommendations and, ultimately, to generate measurable momentum.

Often-neglected building blocks:

Enabling pre- and post-sales teams as well as back-office staff as the key to success

A critical yet frequently overlooked success factor is the (often neglected) systematic enablement of staff and the provision of the organisation’s existing knowledge and assets – going far beyond mere databases. We are all familiar with the common scenarios: “No time”, “They’ll sort it out” or a one-sided focus on product training. However, our many years of experience clearly show that certifications alone fall short as a means of empowerment. What is far more crucial is a deliberate framework for action that enables teams to actually implement business strategies and, nowadays, to make collective company knowledge available at the point of work – tailored to each level, confidently and using AI – in accordance with approval policies.

Pre- and post-sales roles, staging, revenue

Staging is important, as is the focus on each role within the team and on the interplay between roles for revenue growth. Whilst investment is often made in management training, engineering and solution development teams are frequently neglected beyond product- and solution-oriented training – particularly when it comes to interfaces and handover processes. We therefore take a targeted approach to the entire lifecycle of the customer relationship and solutions – from Sales PODs to Customer Success Management – and then ensure that all those involved understand their role and can perform it to the best of their ability.

Partnerships & Communities as genuine drivers of growth

Leading large enterprises, as well as SMEs, place great importance on forging strategic partnerships, community clusters and technology alliances. They assess the sustainability of long-term partnership strategies and ensure that shared strengths are leveraged, monetised and utilised. These collaborations very often open up access to new markets or customer segments – a decisive competitive advantage in tough and highly dynamic markets, as well as for fostering innovation and sharing knowledge. They are not a panacea and do not generate quick revenue, but success is rarely achieved without them; and once established, embedding them within ecosystems makes all the difference.

Mentorship & Training

Our own experience, including as mentors and trainers at the European Institute of Technology and within companies, shows that those organisations which actively utilise buddy systems and mentoring programmes – whether internally or even between companies within a partner network – can, in some cases, drastically improve their teams’ performance. Many years of practical experience consistently demonstrate this – whether for managers or teams. This exchange challenges and fosters commitment within the organisation, underlines its aspirations and, above all, reinforces a sense of belonging; it is also, amongst other things, part of effective employer branding.

“Our personal goal for your organisation is this: we provide companies and teams with clarity and new perspectives, thereby helping to provide direction – for a viable path forward and the operational strength to implement solutions tailored to your specific situation and objectives.”
